Magna Carta Primary Grand Opening

On Friday 30th September, Magna Carta Head of School Amy Dias invited parents along for an official grand opening lunch and ceremony. The pupils gave their parents a tour of the classroom and showed examples of work they have been doing whilst photos from their first weeks were displayed on a big screen. They then went to the lunch hall where they enjoyed some food, including special Magna Carta cup cakes.

The opening concluded with the cutting of a ribbon by Councillor Ray Gooding, Cabinet Member for Education and Lifelong Learning.

Councillor Gooding has said:

“I am delighted Magna Carta Primary Academy has now officially opened and really enjoyed the opportunity to visit the school. Our refurbishment of the Peter Kirk Centre has enabled the first intake of reception pupils to benefit from a high quality learning environment while works on the permanent new school building are completed. I will continue to follow the project closely in the coming months and look forward to the new school site opening in September 2018.”
